Sadly, I believe this is true. It breaks my heart to see the number of people who attend church regularly and have no real depth to their faith. It grieves my spirit to see people who can talk about God but do nothing to live out their faith in their day to day life. I know that there are times that I am guilty of the same thing. I hear a great sermon or read a great Christian book and think to myself how it has “changed my life” and yet I see no real difference in the way that I live. I have been raised in this lazy church and sometimes forget that it isn’t the way that God meant for it to be.
Yes. The King-Pastor (or the stage show up front) does the work and through lack of responsibility in contributing to corporate worship, the pew-sitter, well, just sits.
